About Not One More Alabama
Not One More Alabama (NOMA) is a North Alabama nonprofit that offers free support, education and hope to families and individuals affected by addiction. It walks alongside people in recovery, people still struggling, and families grieving a loss.
The brief
NOMA’s old site ran on Weebly. NOMA wanted a modern site its own staff could manage, tied into the tools they use for events and donors. The new site needed to:
- Give two very different visitors a clear path: families looking for help, and supporters who want to give.
- Run on WordPress, so staff could edit it themselves.
- Connect donations and event sign-ups to Little Green Light (LGL), their donor database.
- Keep old links working after the move.
A calmer, clearer website
We rebuilt the site on WordPress with Elementor Pro and NOMA’s own colors and type. A Get Help page opens with crisis numbers and leads into a searchable directory of recovery, family support and treatment programs. Programs, events and the 2026 capital campaign each have their own section, and a Give button stays in the header on every page.
The capital campaign page, Building Hope Together, raises money for Huntsville’s first recovery resource center. We gave it its own GiveButter campaign and progress bar. In October 2026 it showed about $2.2 million raised toward a $4.5 million goal.
Old Weebly addresses that end in .html now send visitors and search engines to the matching new page.
Events from GiveButter
NOMA runs its events and ticketing in GiveButter. We built a custom events calendar into the WordPress theme with list, grid and calendar views, filters and search. When staff publish an event in GiveButter, it shows up on the website on its own, so nobody has to enter it twice.
Gifts and registrations in Little Green Light
We built a sync service that sits between GiveButter and LGL. When someone gives or registers for an event, it finds or creates that person in LGL and records the gift or the registration. Merchandise orders taken through Square are recorded in LGL as well, Mailchimp unsubscribes are passed along, and a regular backup check picks up anything a live update missed. Some of these syncs are paused for now while the team reviews them.
Ongoing support
We host the site on WP Engine and help NOMA’s team with it day to day, including short written tutorials for tasks like adding an event.
