About The Dock & Door Group
The Dock & Door Group installs, repairs and maintains commercial overhead doors and loading dock equipment: levelers, seals, shelters, restraints and the doors themselves. The company was founded in 2021, is based in Auburn, Alabama, and works across Georgia, Alabama and the Southeast. Until April 2026 it was called Georgia-Alabama Dock & Door.
The brief
We first worked with the company in 2024 on its logo and website. By 2026 the business had grown past the two states in its name, and the owners wanted a name that fit where they were headed: The Dock & Door Group.
The catch was recognition. Customers already knew the old name, the old logo and the old web address. The goal was a refresh people would still recognize, not a trendy redesign. We split the work into three parts:
- Refresh the brand around the new name.
- Update the website to match.
- Move the site and company email to a new domain without losing the people still looking for the old one.
A logo people still recognize
We kept the building-and-dock-door emblem from the 2024 logo, took Georgia-Alabama off its banner and rebuilt the lockup around the new name. DOCK & DOOR carries the weight, with a smaller ampersand so the two words read as one name, and THE and GROUP sit small on either side.
The final package covers a horizontal logo, a stacked logo, a wordmark, an emblem and a brandmark, each in color and white, as SVG, PNG and JPG files plus a CMYK file for print. A brand guide sets out the logo system, alternative emblems, the navy-and-gray color palette and the type (Acumin Variable, set extra condensed and heavy so it stays readable on signs and shirts).
Business cards
We redesigned the business cards on the new brand. One side is contact-first. The other is a quick list of services, with overhead doors on one side and dock equipment on the other, under the line “Installation | Maintenance | Repair | Replacement”. The cards also carry a QR code.
A 2026 rack card
We also designed a two-sided rack card on the new brand. The front leads with the logo, the line “Comprehensive Commercial Dock & Door Services”, the web address and a photo of loading docks, then lists every service in two columns, overhead doors and dock equipment, above a short About Us statement. The back tells how the company started in 2021 and ends with its contact details and a QR code.
The website
The site runs on WordPress and Elementor, and we host it. We swapped the old name for the new one across the site on a staging copy first, using WP-CLI rather than editing the database by hand.
Visitors who arrive expecting the old company get a banner across the top of every page, “Georgia-Alabama Dock & Door is now The Dock & Door Group!”, which links to a short post explaining the change: same owners, same technicians, same services, new name.
Moving to a new domain
The company registered dockanddoorgroup.com and a couple of related addresses in its own Cloudflare account and gave us access, so it owns its domains outright. On launch day we moved both the website and the company’s Google Workspace email to the new domain. The old gaaldockanddoor.com address and the related domains now forward to the new site.
Ongoing support
We host the site and keep helping with brand pieces as the company asks for them.
