About Many Colors
Many Colors Arts Collective is a nonprofit in Montgomery, Alabama. It runs a weekday program where adults with special needs make art, play music and build friendships with mentors and volunteers. In their words: “lose yourself in the arts. find self in community.”
The brief
We first worked with Many Colors when it was a brand-new nonprofit. In 2026 they came back with three needs:
- A refreshed website that shows who works with the artists today and that they’re hiring.
- An easier way to take donations and keep in touch with donors.
- Organization email and shared files on a plan that fits a nonprofit budget.
Website refresh
We built a new staff section, updated the board listing and added a hiring banner that runs across every page and links to the open job. The Give button stays in the header on desktop and phone, so giving is always one tap away.
This builds on the Programs and Get Involved pages we made in 2025. Programs walks through the art and music the Artists in Residence take part in. Get Involved explains the two volunteer roles, Artist’s Friend and Artist’s Mentor, each with its own sign-up.
From GiveWP to GiveButter
Donations used to run through GiveWP, a WordPress plugin. We moved Many Colors to GiveButter, where staff can build campaigns and email donors without a developer. We copied the live site to a local workspace, pulled the donor history out of GiveWP, and imported 119 donor records and 132 past gifts, made between July 2025 and May 2026, into GiveButter. The donate page now uses a GiveButter form with one-time and monthly giving and an option to give in honor or memory of someone. It went live in July 2026, and GiveWP is no longer in use.
Google Workspace for Nonprofits
We moved the organization’s email to the free Google Workspace for Nonprofits plan, with 30 accounts and shared drives for programs, operations and leadership. The executive director now adds staff accounts herself.
Where it started
Our first project for Many Colors was the brand: a bright paint-splatter logo with a “many colors” wordmark, a color palette, logo versions for every use and a brand guide. That identity carried into their first WordPress website, and it’s still the look of the refreshed site.
